Hi there! My name is Happy, and I’m the founder of HappyChess. The name comes from my school days when I was always cheerful, and my teacher called me "Happy Happy Joy Joy." Since then, the nickname stuck, and I’ve embraced it in my online gaming and now in my chess journey.
I’ve been playing chess for just over two years, and I’ve developed a strong passion for the game. I currently hold an online blitz rating of 2100 (peak) on both Chess.com and Lichess, and a rapid rating of 2050. Although I don’t have a FIDE rating yet, I feel confident teaching players up to an online rating of 1800. My goal with HappyChess is to make chess lessons affordable and accessible to everyone who wants to learn and improve, without the high costs often associated with professional coaching.
I specialize in openings like the London System, the King’s Indian Defence, and the Pirc Defence, But I emphasize teaching the general opening principles. I also have a strong foundation in endgames, which is something I enjoy sharing with my students and is also my favorite thing to teach.
I offer private lessons for €35 per hour (can be reduced if bundle price, contact me for more information), and group lessons at a reduced rate depending on the size of the group. I'm also working towards obtaining a FIDE rating (OTB tournaments) and looking to pursue official certifications, such as becoming a National Instructor or FIDE Instructor in the future.
